Ruins Catalog - Design, Narration, layout and concept by Karla Gruss

The Ruins Catalog was made to showcase a photographic series by Matuschka exploring beauty, decay, and the passage of time through architectural and bodily fragmentation. The design reflects the raw, layered aesthetic of the work — balancing minimal typography with distressed textures and stark negative space. The catalog functions as both a document and a tactile extension of the series’ themes, evoking impermanence, memory, and transformation.
